Up in smoke!

The Yang Sing has suffered a setback, just as the project entered it's final stages. The warehouse, in which most of the Hotels specially made custom furniture was stored, has caught fire and left the building a blackened shell.

Inside the warehouse was £200k worth of Towels, Toiletries and Accessories that had been unpacked from a container shipped over specially from China. The setback will delay the opening of the Hotel by a month, meaning there will be more time to make the experience even better for our distinguised guests.

As you can see from the picture there is really nothing left of the building. The Fire Service are still investigating the cause of the fire.

We at the Yang Sing Oriental have just taken delivery of our brand new, handcrafted Reception Desk. It has been crafted from all of the reclaimed timbers within the building and looks fantastic! A wonderful centrepiece for our reception area we're sure you'll agree.

Roberta Fulford and Mick Burns are the two people responsible for this fine piece of art, which would not look out of place on a pedestal at the Tate! Roberta is the hotel's designer, one of the world's best we are pleased to say.




Mick Burns is the chainsaw artist who turned Roberta's vision into a reality.




Just to give you an idea of the sheer scale of this monstrous piece of art here it is being brought into the building (through a specially removed window) on a traditonally damp Mancunian afternoon.
